Some reviews and commentaries...The most fascinating transformation is that of Susan (Anna Popplewell), who as a teenager seems to have ripened and sharpened simultaneously. When she dons her quiver of red arrows to do battle with Miraz's armored forces, she's the very picture of young womanhood, both soft and strong. In a way, Susan embodies the strengths and failings of the "Narnia" series, which, if all goes according to plan, will eventually comprise seven movies. When she aims and fires, she perfectly conveys the vicarious pleasures of vanquishing the enemy, by way of a sure eye, steady hand and superior moral force. But her most pivotal and stirring scene, wherein she does single-handed battle with an oncoming cavalry in a wooded glen, ends with a retrograde whimper, reminding viewers that even as expansive and humanist an intellect as Lewis's was still a prisoner of his times where sexism was concerned. The Washington Post: 'Prince Caspian': Fantasy Rules With a Iron Hand in Narnia Director Andrew Adamson ("Shrek" and the first "Narnia") must have been shouting "More! Faster! Bigger!" through his bullhorn. The action scarcely flags as chases on horseback and broadsword duels pile upon catapult barrages and clashing armies. Hot-tempered Peter bristles at Caspian's chastely romantic attentions to Susan, who offers the classic brush-off, "It would never work. After all, I am 1,300 years older than you."Star Tribune: The new 'Narnia' is bigger, better To read my review, click read more, and feel free to add your own reviews to the comments section! |

...But Moseley has a sentimental side, too. He was disappointed to find out there were no plans for a wrap party, so he took matters into his own hands and organized one."I went 'round with this big microphone on set to everybody and said, 'There's going to be a wrap party tonight!' " It was decided that as long as he organized it, a certain amount of money would go toward drinks. "So I had to stand around the door all night doing the wristbands, making sure everyone had a good time." "It's probably the only thing he has ever organized in his life," Popplewell teases. "Will is not the most organized person." Young stars of 'Narnia' stake a claim on summer landscape @ USAtoday.com |
"...I was in editorial a few weeks ago, doing my dialogue recording for some bits and pieces, and Andrew said, “Oh, you know just this week I’ve been figuring out the credits song and I’ve got this girl Regina Spektor,” and I was like, “REGINA SPEKTOR? WHAT?” And so when that song came on at the end and it’s all about kind of not coming back and everything and I just…a little tear, maybe, a little tear. But I think I was kind of overwhelmed by the whole thing. I mean I don’t really have any concrete conclusions to draw about it at the moment. I need to watch it again.''
"I had my first audition for this when I was 13 and now I'm 19, so it's been a big old chunk of my life, and anyway, I wouldn't want to play the same character seven times.''
